Coming Soon: Children's Bible Songs Done To Speed And Thrash Metal Arrangements
December 15, 2008Mark Price of CharlotteObserver.com reports: Eric Bryant of Charlotte announced earlier this year that he was going to create the world's first educational heavy metal album for preschoolers.
As outlandish as the idea seemed, the Arts & Science Council of Charlotte-Mecklenburg liked 36-year-old Bryant's premise of creating a brand of children's music that would also appeal to parents who loved heavy metal. The husband and father of two won a $2,445 grant to prove he could do it. The end result, recorded in a home studio, is being released Tuesday and will be available at Manifest Music on South Boulevard, and via MySpace. Bryant, who works at the Easter Seals/United Cerebral Palsy Child Development Center, is now at work on an even more unusual project: a collection of traditional children's Bible songs done to speed and thrash metal arrangements.
